Are High Interest Rates Making You Pause On Your Pool?

Are High Interest Rates Making You Pause On Your Pool?
Why building a pool today may be a better option than waiting for lower interest rates.

The team at Oak Wells Aquatics wants you to be informed of your options. We want to support you in making the most educated decisions for your family and investment goals.

Let's look at the real numbers in financing your backyard dream.

We have never seen the cost of construction go down from one year to the next.  It always goes up.

Average cost of pool  and screen in 2000 $31,000.00

Average cost of pool  and screen in 2010 $52,000.00

Average cost of pool and screen in 2020 $77,000.00

Average cost of a pool and screen 2024 $97,000.00

For this example lets use a 100,000.00 project.  Assume 20 year financing.

Cost of pool today          Interest HELOC 20 year payment

100,000.00 8% 836.44

$100,000.00 9% $899.72

$100,000.00 10% $965.72

Cost of pool in 2025          Interest HELOC 20 year payment (Assuming a 14% cost of pool increase)

114,000 8% $935.54

$114,000.00 9% $1,025.69

$114,000.00 10% $1,100.12

Cost of pool in 2026         Interest HELOC 20 year payment (Assuming a 14% cost of pool increase)

129,960.00 8% $1,087.04

$129,960.00 9% $1,169.28

$129.960.00 10% $1254.14

Today, HELOC’s and some non-secure loans are quoted between 9% - 14% so the pool payment on a $100,000 project is $899.72.

If next year the interest rates drop to 8% and the pool price increases 10%  the payment will go from $899.72 to $920.08. Up

Increasing costs of construction will cause you to spend more if you wait until interest rates come down, if we take into account historical data.
